Steam Overwhelm Owls In Series Opener

Jeremy Narducci and Patrick Higgins score a goal and an assist, and the Steam pepper the Owls with 44 shots as Queen City wins game one of their weekend series against Grand Rapids 7-4.

7 different Steam players scored during the contest, which gave Queen City a 4-1 record for the season thus far.

John Fromme III started things off for Queen City with a goal 60 seconds into the contest.  Grand Rapids would answer at the 12:29 mark as Garrett Russell scored on the power play.  The Steam and Owls would then trade a couple of markers in quick succession - the Owls Mike Palmeri shorthanded at 16:42, followed by the Steams Shawn Lee unassisted at 16:58.  It would happen again just before the period ended with Joshua Sanberg scoring for the Owls at 19:47, followed by the Steams Jereme Narducci a short 2 seconds later.

Grand Rapids would answer again in the 2nd when John Brooks fired a power play marker at 11:19, but that would be all for the Owls.  Steven Brown (16:12 of the 2nd), Mike Behan (16:30 of the 2nd), Patrick Jaeger (5:02 of the 3rd) and Patrick Higgins (18:27 of the 3rd) all found the back of the net assuring that the Steam remain undefeated on the road so far this season.

The Steam and Owls face off again today at Southside Ice Green. Game time is 1:30 PM.
