Queen City Remains Undefeated On The Road
Michael Lebowitz had two goals and an assist and Patrick Nelson had three helpers as the Queen City Steam rolled over the Grand Rapids Owls 5-2.
The Steam out shot the Owls 31-17 as they improve their road record to 4-0 this season.
Grand Rapids started the scoring when Andrew Curtis put one past Steam goaltender Kevin Kustich at 14:21 of the first. The Steam came roaring back in the second when Lebowitz and Nelson connected for their first of two goals at the 3:33 mark. Lebowitz and Nelson would then help Jeremy Narducci score one at 11:38 of the second. The Owls Mike Morgan slipped in an unassisted marker at 14:06, but the Steam answered with two more with Lebowitz and Nelson's second marker at 17:31, followed closely by Patrick Higgins goal at 18:22. Zachary Kamrass added an empty netter at 18:41 of the third.
Queen City finds itself in 2nd place in the CSHL after this weekend with 10 points, 2 points behind undefeated Debuque (12) and one ahead of Defending CSHL Champion St. Louis (9).
The Steam remain on the road taking on the Michigan ice Dogs October 5th and 6th.
